Community Update; April 26, 2024

Dear Watermark Community,

Hello everyone!  Here are your weekly updates:

  • We have a new router installed in the garage, so if you need to use the WiFi to update the software in your vehicle, please ask the Security Guard on duty for the network and password.  We are working on extending the network throughout the garage so that the need to move your vehicle closer to the security desk can be eliminated.  We’ll let you know when this has been fully updated.
  • As a reminder, if you are having a plumbing issue the association’s Plumbing Protocol is provided in your Member Directory and is posted at the security desk.  Plumbers familiar with the building include XYG (619) 271-2916, Sherwood Mechanical (858) 679-3000, and Flowmaster (Daniel Martinez) (619) 622-0153.  You are not limited to using these vendors. 
    • The HOA will reimburse approved expenses as provided in the Plumbing Protocol.  Please submit your paid invoice to Shannon, GM.
    • In an emergency, the first thing we want to do is stop any water intrusion.  Please communicate any issues to Security and/or Shannon for assistance in coordinating vendors and access to neighboring units.
  • New signs have been posted at both entrances instructing delivery personnel to make all deliveries at the garage. Please help us limit building access by not buzzing in anyone who you do not know and direct all deliveries, food & packages, to the security desk in the garage. Your actions help keep everyone safe!

Community Update; April 19, 2024

Dear Watermark Community,

Hello everyone!  Earth Day, Monday 04/22/24, is a great opportunity to refresh our knowledge on recycling best practices!

Here are your weekly updates:

  • Did you know that plastic bags are actually not recyclable? While some may appear sturdier, all plastic bags, including those found at grocery stores, are NOT recyclable in our curbside programs.  Please reuse the ones that you can and place the others into the trash bin.
  • Additionally, plastic bags do not belong in the Organics bin.  We often see them in there and kindly ask for your help in making sure they are properly disposed.  Please empty any organic materials from the plastic bag directly into the Organics bin and throw the plastic bag into the trash.  Alternatively, consider using compostable bags specifically designed for food scraps.
  • Waste Management has a website that provides details on what can and cannot be recycled, https://www.wm.com/us/en/recycle-right/recycling-resources
  • Attempting to recycle incorrect items does result in a fine to the Association by Waste Management, increasing our budgeted costs for trash hauling.  Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

Community Update; April 12, 2024

Dear Watermark Community,

Hello everyone! 

Here are your weekly updates:

  • Your Board of Directors met on Tuesday evening this past week.  As a result, the March meeting minutes were approved and are posted on the portal for your review.
  • We are asking everyone to do an inspection on your parking space for oil and fluid spills.  If you see any, on the ground or on a pan you’ve placed, we’re asking that everyone take the time to clean up their space.  Here is a link to a webpage provided by the City of San Diego on how to address these types of spills & information on proper disposal.  https://www.sandiego.gov/sites/default/files/cleaning_pavement_fact_sheet.pdf
  • The next quarterly Maintenance Walk is this coming Tuesday, April 16th at 10:00am.  We will meet at the Security Desk if you are interested in joining.
  • The next monthly Landscape Walk is this coming Friday, April 19th at 9:00am.  We will meet at the Security Desk if you are interested in joining.

Community Update; April 5, 2024

Dear Watermark Community,

Hello everyone! Here are your weekly updates:

  • Please make sure you are scheduling large-item deliveries with Management.  The Rules and Regulations require seven (7) day advanced notice.  This makes certain we can pad the elevators, cover the floors, and check for damage before & after your delivery.  We understand there are always situations in which this much notice is not possible, so it is essential you are communicating with the General Manager as early as possible in the process.
  • The next Board Meeting is this coming Tuesday @ 6pm in the Community Room & via Zoom.  Agendas are posted and notice was also emailed.  If you’re not receiving these emails please let me know so I can update your profile.

Community Update; March 22, 2024

Dear Watermark Community,

Hello everyone! 

Here are your weekly updates:

  • REMINDER:  There is a building-wide water shut-off on Monday, March 25th scheduled from 11:00am-3:00pm.
  • Beginning Monday, March 25th there will no longer be access to YouTube TV in the gym or Community Room.  There is an antenna that will provide access to local channels and you are welcome to log in to any streaming services you subscribe to on either television.  Please remember to log out after you are done.
  • This weekend, on Sunday, March 24th, the San Diego Half Marathon & 5K routes will be near the building.  This has the potential to slow travel time with traffic and/or detours.  Please plan accordingly while enjoying your Sunday morning & afternoon!

Community Update; March 15, 2024

Dear Watermark Community,

Hello everyone!  I hope you had a lovely week and adjusted well to the shift to Daylight Savings Time.

Here are your weekly updates:

  • Thank you to everyone who voted and submitted your ballot.  The Annual Meeting was a great success because of your efforts!  The three open seats on the Board of Directors were filled by the three candidates on the ballot, John Gowan, Las Saunders, and Joan Wojcik.  Additional details and results are posted on the bulletin board for your review.
  • The February meeting minutes are posted on the portal for your review.
  • It was announced at the Board Meeting that the Social Committee is hosting an event for all residents for Cinco de Mayo!  On Sunday, May 5th from 2:00pm-5:00pm there will be a Taco Truck on-site for all to enjoy. More information to come.
  • The Safety Committee will be presenting their recommendations to the Board of Directors as part of the April Regular Session Board Meeting.  Please consider joining on April 9, 2024, if you’d like to learn about their recommendations.

Community Update; March 8, 2024

Dear Watermark Community,

Hello everyone!  This Sunday, March 10th, is the beginning of Daylight Savings Time.  Clocks will be set ahead by one hour.

Here are your weekly updates:

  • Tuesday, March 12th is the Annual Meeting and election.  Registration begins at 6:00pm and the meeting will be Called to Order at 6:30pm.  Bring your ballot with you if you have not sent it in yet.  The Executive Session & Regular Session meetings will begin at their regularly scheduled times, 5:00pm & 6:00pm respectively.

Community Update; March 1, 2024

Dear Watermark Community,

Hello everyone!  Can you feel Springtime trying to make its way to us? A few more days of rain in the week ahead but daylight Savings Time is just around the corner, March 10th, and it is beginning to warm up again! I do hope you’ve had a lovely week.

  • BALLOTS!!!  Please remember to return your ballots for the Election of the Board of Directors at the upcoming Annual Meeting on March 12th.
  • If you have any requests that need to be reviewed by the Board at their next meeting, please submit these to me by Monday, March 4th so we can make certain they are included in the meeting packet.
  • Security Guard Ayub has left Watermark. We wish him well in his future endeavors. You may recognize his replacement, Uriaah, he was on-site filling in during Ayub’s vacation.  Please welcome Uriaah, he was very excited to come back and work with us.

Community Update; February 23, 2024

Dear Watermark Community,

Hello everyone!  Thank you all who made yourselves available or coordinated entry for the sprinkler inspections.  Your cooperation made a huge difference in being able to address this mandatory inspection.

Here are your weekly updates:

  • BALLOTS!!!  Ballots have been mailed and we need you to return yours in order to meet quorum.   Please take a moment and participate in this election, even if just to help meet quorum. If you need a new ballot please contact me.
  • Some of you may have noticed that when you receive a package notification you get an email, even if you aren’t signed up to get notifications by email.  This is something our Development Team is working to fix within the notification system.  This will take some time.  We wanted you to know this is something we are aware of and are working to fix.
  • As mentioned last week, please remember to pick up any items off the floor of the garage and please unload and return the carts to the garage as soon as possible.
